When you first get up in the morning, How do you feel? Dragging, no energy, can’t wait to get that first cup of coffee down so the caffeine can start working its magic? Or do you stretch, start humming, “Oh, what a beautiful morning,” eager to experience what this day has to offer?
If I am perfectly honest, I must say I experience both, but I have more dragging mornings than rested go get’em mornings.
Recently, my morning routine was side-tracked. I had finished a devotional that lasted almost a
year, and nothing at my fingertips inspired me. A few weeks went by as I tried different things and this lost feeling slowly developed.
Has that happened to you? Maybe you are lost and don’t know why?
I am following this plan, too. Will you join me? I would love for my friends to join in. We can help each other stay on track.
- Choose a time you will commit ten to fifteen minutes to this daily exercise. Take time to choose or write 5-10 positive affirmations.
- Set a timer for five minutes that you can repeat easily. (Like pushing a button)
- Start reading a book in the Bible for five minutes. (Example: I am studying the Book of Acts. This week I am focusing on chapter three and reading it over and over again.)
- Set a timer for five minutes. Think about what you just read; or list things you are thankful or grateful for; or PRAY
- Set a timer for five minutes. Read positive affirmations over you and your life. (Make up your own or check out the ones I posted under “My Favorites” on my website.) Click Here The link is also on my Facebook page.
- Any time during the next week when a negative thought crosses your mind speak one of your affirmations over yourself.

I wonder how many of you wanted to say? “I don’t want to hear about that God stuff.”
DON’T HIT THE DELETE YET!
I say. “You have a choice. I know you have ten to fifteen minutes in your day for positive reinforcement.”
I want you here and to be valuable contributors to this community.
It is essential we learn to listen to each other so we can talk to each other.
My blog is a community where everyone is welcome.
It doesn’t matter where you stand in your Spiritual journey. We can all do this.
It is your choice how you include God, not mine.
For those of us who are spiritually challenged, (Yes, that includes all of us!)
Tell yourself you are engaging in mental exercises enabling you to focus better or you are trying a new form of meditation.
On Sunday, prepare for the next week. Keep the affirmations that are working for you and choose new ones to replace the ones that aren’t. Our communications materialize in the comments. (I can’t wait to hear from you!)

Let’s open the Living in Relationships Community with a bang of positive energy.
PS: This morning I was unable to focus, and I wasn’t getting very far on my productivity scale. I stopped did my 15 minutes. (Yes, it was my first time, too.) The timer on my phone works great; I prayed for energy and answers. I received both.
