PODCASTS
You can find these and other podcasts on your Favorite Podcast App
I can’t wait for Thursday and Friday to arrive to listen to my two favorite podcasts. By then I need a pick-me-up!
On Thursday I anticipate More Than Small Talk with Suzie Eller, Holly Gerth, and Jennifer Watson. Each week they present a Confession Question and from their own experiences, they provide an answer or solution. Their intro invites you to go deeper, become freer, and make connections. To aid in this they also have a Facebook group of the same name. (facebook.com/groups/morethansmalltalk/). This is a wonderful community where you can make connections, ask questions and share your own experience.
On Friday I make time for The Verb with Heather Holleman. I gather my current composition book, a pen, and a cup of coffee. First I listen to the complete podcast then I listen again usually three or more times to take notes. I love Heather’s authenticity mixed with humor and deep personal knowledge of God’s Word. She encourages my brain to think. Each podcast is about ten minutes. Heather can pack more into ten minutes than most can in twenty to thirty. You can also find Heather on her blog website http://heatherholleman.com/blog/ .

BOOKS & BIBLE STUDIES
My favorite Christian Author is Suzanne Eller
- The Spirit-Led Heart: Living a Life of Love and Faith Without Borders Looking for another dig in deep. The journey is exciting when read alone but teamed with the Study of Acts we learn about the early church and the power of the most forgotten essence of God, the Holy Spirit
- Come With Me: Discovering the Beauty of Where He Leads A life-changing book packed with invitations to read the next page, chapter, to dig deeper into the life of Jesus, to step out in faith. My copy littered with flags, post-it notes and note paper, became a quick reference when a refresh is needed.
- Come With Me Devotional: A Yearlong Adventure in Following Jesus Ignite your morning time with Jesus through this 261-day devotional. More than an Adventure this daily walk with Jesus doubles as a Bible study on the Gospel of Luke. Your faith ignites as Jesus and His teachings come alive in your heart. I stopped forging ahead and now look forward to my coffee with Jesus every morning.
- The Unburdened Heart: Finding the Freedom of Forgiveness
- The Mended Heart: God’s Healing for Your Broken Places

Heather Holleman
Seated with Christ Living Freely in a Culture of Comparison
As Christians find themselves trapped in the rhetoric of platform, influence, retweets, and fame, they need a ladder out of the fray. Many of us live in a prison of self-absorption. Shackled with pride and despair, we compare ourselves to others constantly in our frantic, unending pursuit of perfection. Seated with Christ gets to the root of this behavior and charts a path to freedom. Scripture says that God’s beloved are seated with Christ in the heavens (Eph. 2:6), treasured by Him and given a place at His table. Heather Holleman unveils what this means for us. It means we walk out on the fight for acceptance. We quit measuring ourselves to others. We leap free from cycles of shame. (copied from Amazon.com)
Guarded by Christ Knowing the God That Rescues and Keeps Us
Heather Holleman used to live a fragile life, a prisoner to fear, anxiety, and despair. Like many younger women, she knew Jesus, but she wasn’t strong in Him. Her search for comfort seemed unending. Then one day, while reading a simple statement in Scripture, “God guards the lives of his faithful ones” (Psalm 97:10), that all began to change. In Guarded by Christ: Knowing the God Who Rescues and Keeps Us, Heather guides women through a series of practical mental shifts that immensely helped her live strong in the Lord. Learn how in Jesus, you are guarded:
- By righteousness instead of condemnation
- By peace instead of anxiety
- By hope instead of despair
- By the Holy Spirit’s power instead of self-effort
- By a crucified life instead of a self-important one
We all need maturity in Christ that prepares us not just to endure anything, but to live from the strength and peace of Jesus in every season.
