Will You Pray With Me?

Since I first heard of the school shooting in Parkland, FA my heart has been laden with sorrow. This week I watch one-hundred students and teachers delivering their passionate concerns to President Trump, legislators and others. Passionate youth who stood boldly and said, “This happened to me.” and “…what are you going to do?”

I am proud of them.

I can’t say I am proud of me. After the Las Vegas mass shooting, I started praying for God to stop the next mass shooting, His protection shields children, and teachers and the innocent. I prayed, but my prayers dropped off to once a week, then once a month, then occasionally. But, I didn’t forget. Does thinking about it count as prayer?

The Holy Spirit prompted me to be a leader. I didn’t know what that looked like I thought. Yesterday morning I shared a memory from a year ago.

“I am growing closer to Jesus every day; Because of Christ, my family is closer; my body is stronger; my faith is deeper; my leadership sharper.” Craig Groeschel

Validating I have what I need to do this, but I need your help. Yes, you!

Will You Join Me In Prayer

I am reaching out to all of the prayer warriors I know, including you!

I’m not a prayer warrior, you say. We can all be prayer warriors. Prayer is something each of us can do.

James 5:16b (ESV), The prayer of a righteous person, has great power as it is working.

Our prayers have power, boundless power, more than we can imagine. Proven in the last four words of this verse. “as it is working.” Not as we are working but as our prayers are working. God is working, and His work is in His timing, not ours.  He doesn’t give up; we can’t either.

We believe in God with our heart, soul, and mind. Do we believe in our prayers? Sometimes our prayer list is more like a wish list. When we believe God is answering our prayers attitudes change, we know He is working toward granting our prayer.

We are not going to give up. We know our Heavenly Father is working behind the scenes and we are asking Him to do just that. We believe in the power of our prayer and our God. With His voice, He created the universe; we have faith He can stop mass school shootings. Our trust is stronger together than alone. We are His church.

Mark 11:24 (Voice), So listen to what I’m saying: Whatever you pray for or ask from God,  believe that you’ll receive it and you will.

Are you excited? I am! Are you unsure? I was too, which is why this post is out today instead of yesterday. This morning my excitement grew so I could share some with you.

prayer, worship
We Can Make a Difference

We can make a difference. Just like the teenagers from Florida who took their passion and spoke out to leaders and the president. I saw trembling hands, heard shaky voices, and I am sure some knees shook too.

Will you join me? Together and with our Heavenly Father we can make a difference, I believe it.

Here is how you can help.

Share, Leave comments, Like.  If each of us reaches just a few in our circle of influence, and they do the same, our voice will be like rumbling thunder.

When you share, leave the first comment, one of thankfulness and encouragement.

Encourage everyone you know to read this and pray.

Will you join me

Heavenly Father, my heart is grieving again for seventeen precious lives lost. For their families, friends, for children having to grow up too fast, Give their hearts your comfort and peace. Father, unleash your army to protect every school in America that is in danger of an attack. Send strong believers to the circle of the shooters. May poisoned hearts be opened and their desire to kill and harm removed. I believe they can soften a hurting heart, mend a needed relationship and bring Your love and grace to those who surround them. Inspire them to heed your invitation to demonstrate your love. Satan will not win this war. Father, I ask you open hearts in our governments; federal, state and local throughout this nation. Encourage them to work together to find an answer. Let them recognize no solution can be one-sided. As they debate may they understand the importance of your love and find compromise and brotherhood that will remove weapons of war in homes where they may come into contact with children and young adults. Strengthen hearts all over to know they have a call to action to be watchful and to report whatever they know is not right. Teach us to understand your will and the importance of their tiny heart. I know you are working on my prayer, God. Grant me wisdom in perseverance. I ask these things in the name of Jesus.

Please join me.
